Building the Technology Foundation for BLOCK’s National Growth
"NCG has simplified technology across our portfolio, giving us clearer costs, more reliable support and one trusted partner for our teams and members. They understand how our workspaces operate, communicate transparently and take care of the technology so our teams can focus on delivering a great member experience. As BLOCK continues to grow, it’s reassuring to have a technology partner that can scale with us.”
- Katy Hambridge, Head of Operations, BLOCK
The Client
BLOCK is a fast-growing flexible workspace operator creating design-led environments where businesses and communities can thrive. As the business expands beyond its South West roots into new locations including Manchester and Birmingham, it needed a technology model capable of scaling with its ambitions.
The Challenge
As BLOCK’s portfolio grew, so did the complexity of managing technology across multiple locations. Different suppliers, contracts and support arrangements created an opportunity to simplify operations and introduce greater consistency across the portfolio.
BLOCK needed to improve WiFi performance and the tenant experience while creating a standardised technology model that could be rolled out across existing and future locations – all without disrupting live workspace environments.
Our Solution
NCG began with a full audit of BLOCK’s technology, connectivity, suppliers, contracts and SLAs, creating a clear roadmap for improvement.
The programme brings BLOCK’s technology together under one accountable partner, including the NCG Spark network, fully managed WiFi, supplier consolidation, simplified billing, direct tenant support and a single SLA-backed service. A repeatable technology blueprint also provides a consistent foundation for new locations as the portfolio grows.
The Results
BLOCK is moving to a simpler, standardised and fully managed technology platform built around reliability, transparency and scale. The new model improves WiFi reliability and tenant experience while reducing pressure on centre teams through direct tenant support, clearer ownership and simplified supplier management.
The programme is expected to deliver an estimated 25% reduction in connectivity and support costs across the initial four sites, while creating a scalable technology blueprint that can be replicated as BLOCK continues its national expansion.
