Make the Everyday Workplace Experience Part of Your 2027 Plan

A meeting that starts smoothly. A quiet space where the Wi-Fi works. A visitor who can get connected without a series of phone calls.

These everyday moments shape how people experience an office. They also provide a useful starting point for businesses deciding where to invest in their workplace next year.

JLL’s 2025 Workforce Preference Barometer surveyed 8,700 office workers across 31 countries, employed by organisations with more than 1,000 staff. Almost 40% of respondents globally believed their office experience could improve.

The findings cover a broad range of factors, including the working environment, location and amenities. For NCG, they prompt a practical question: where can technology help make the working day easier?

Start by asking people what regularly interrupts their work. A meeting room may be difficult to use because the equipment is unfamiliar, the audio is poor or nobody knows who to contact when something goes wrong. Each problem needs a different response.

A useful review should consider:

  • Whether connectivity works consistently across the spaces people use

  • How easily employees and guests can join and contribute to meetings

  • Whether booking and access systems reflect how the office operates

  • How quickly people can get help when technology lets them down

Support is part of the experience too. Clear ownership, straightforward reporting and a coordinated response can help prevent a small issue from becoming a recurring frustration.

Before committing to a larger upgrade, identify the most common problems and agree how improvement will be assessed. Support requests, user feedback and meeting-room usage can help establish a starting point and show whether a change is helping.

At NCG, we design, integrate and support workplace technology with the people using it in mind.
