Prepare Your Building for Its Next Occupier

When a business chooses its next office, it needs to understand when the space will be ready to use. Connectivity belongs in that conversation from the start.

Savills’ August 2026 Central London Office Market Watch reported that, year to date, 70% of sub-10,000 sq ft transactions in the City and 74% in the West End had been acquired on a fitted basis. The report links the growth of fitted space to the pressure of fit-out costs on smaller occupiers.

For landlords preparing for 2027, this raises a practical question: how does the technology provision support the promise of a space that is ready for business?

Furniture and finishes are visible at a viewing. The arrangements for connectivity, activation and ongoing support may need a more detailed conversation. Addressing them early helps occupiers understand what is available, what they need to order and who will manage the process.

NCG Ready prepares buildings with managed digital infrastructure before occupiers need it. There are two routes:

  • Existing buildings: assess the asset and occupier requirements, then deploy and manage the infrastructure needed to make connectivity available.

  • New developments and refurbishments: plan technology alongside the project team, including design, carrier procurement, fibre infrastructure and commissioning.

In an NCG Ready building, occupiers can typically be connected in 3–5 days, depending on their requirements. That is an occupier activation timeframe once the building is prepared; the infrastructure work itself needs to be planned separately.

For an occupier renewing a lease, a similar review can establish whether the current service still meets their needs and what improvements should be considered. Staying in the same space can be a useful opportunity to resolve existing frustrations.

At NCG, we bring design, delivery and ongoing support together through one technology partner. If your next occupier is planning ahead, now is a good time to consider what your building needs to be ready.
